John's passion for his work and his subjects are so evident in his work. It's always great to see John and his
camera at a gig. Not only is he a good friend and a true gentleman, but when John is on the job I know
that night will be captured on film the way it should be. He's one of the best at capturing rock and roll in all its sweat-stained glory.

There's a rich musical history at the Jersey Shore, both past and present. Fortunately, John Cavanaugh is always there to
preserve these moments for everyone to remember. He has a great ability to capture the energy and emotion of the performers and make the audience feel like they are right there on stage. I
know when John is shooting a show, his up-close-and-personal style will tell the whole story.

Being an artist is the ability to express and communicate the
vision you have of your world. John's world is the Jersey shore,
and the sounds that it encompasses. Tell a friend what rock and
roll really is and you might play him some music that can move
and stir emotions. To see it, you will show him these photos.
John Cavanaugh captures the spirit of rock and roll like few
artists can. Thank you John for your work and your friendship.

Great photos. Great site. John Cavanaugh does
a yeoman's job at capturing the music, the magic and the history
of the Jersey music scene.
Years from now when we are all long gone, what will remain will be the recorded music and
John's wonderful photos. Thanks John.

I've been performing down the Jersey Shore for over 25 years and have
accumulated over hundreds of photos of myself and my bands. But
my greatest action shots have been caught by the one and only
John Cavanaugh. He captures the intensity of the moment with
pure passion that only "a real artist" can deliver. Keep on
clickin'!

I have worked with John many times since the mid- '90s and have always been impressed with his work. Like many of the great photographers, John is
able to catch the moment and capture the performance without ever distracting from the show or the performer. This may sound simple but this is an art unto itself. Many times John has sent
me photos and I never even remember him taking the shots! John has established himself as the premier Jersey Shore rock photographer.

There's something special about the Jersey rock scene that
John always captures in his photographs: the energy, the
exuberance, the beating heart behind anyone who has ever mounted
the stage to join onlookers, fans and revelers who come together
on hallowed grounds to celebrate just being here. I've enjoyed
John's photographs of some of my favorite Jersey rockers for
years. It's always a treat to see John's face and lens out there
in the audience, and an honor to be among those moments he
captures and eternalizes. Thanks, John.

I always thought the Asbury Park, NJ music scene has one of
the richest heritages in the country. I always brag about it,
and now it's nice to see that you can go online and not only see
that, but appreciate the great photography of a true artist like
John Cavanaugh.
